Specialist care and therapy

Alongside excellent nursing care, private inpatients have access to other personal specialist care.

These include:
Dietetics
Occupational therapy
Pain Management
Outpatients physiotherapy service
Speech and Language therapy

Physiotherapy
Patients having major orthopaedic and surgical treatments will require physiotherapy. In some cases these will include sessions prior to procedures.

The Physio team make sure function, activity and independence is restored to patients after undergoing surgery that might restrict their movement. They encourage a holistic approach and will consider the individuals’ work, leisure and lifestyle while determining their ability to self-manage.

If follow-up sessions are required after discharge our team will assist patients in finding local private practitioners and/or arrange outpatient appointments.

Occupational Therapy
The Occupational Therapy team is dedicated to making sure patients will be comfortable and safe when returning back to their own homes. The OT team will investigate how you are coping prior to coming to hospital and undergo assessments to determine whether or not specialist equipment is needed.

Dietics
Dieticians provide dietary and nutritional advice on a variety of conditions, such as diabetes, heart disease and cystic fibrosis.

Speech and Language Therapy
Speech and language therapists work with patients that have communicative and/or swallowing disorders.

Pain Management
The inpatient pain team is on call to provide advice and diagnosis to patients in any kind of pain. Working with the clinical staff, they assist nurses and consultants to make sure patients are comfortable and minimise the risks of future discomfort.
