Dr Peter Florida-James qualified from Bristol University and then trained as a GP in Banbury and Oxford, where he was involved in setting up one of the first cardiac rehabilitation exercise schemes in the country. After that, he undertook additional training in the field of Public Health and subsequently worked as a consultant in Health Promotion in Birmingham on the Healthy Birmingham 2000 project.
Later in his career, he returned to General Practice and further developed his interest in Sports Medicine, which lead to him joining the Queens Park Rangers FC in 2005. He treats a wide variety of general musculoskeletal problems in his practice and is currently running audit at the club’s Head of Medical Services and supervises players’ rehabilitation programmes.
Additionally, he spent a number of years working as a musculoskeletal doctor in the armed services MIAC clinics. Alongside this, he has been an attending doctor to the Cirque de Soleil troupe and also supported a Premier League Hockey Club.
